 Chapter 7

Four hours had passed since the two teams set off, and Clark and Elizabeth had finished making a pyramid shape using wooden planks. He tied them together at the top with ropes, then put them on top of the clothes that were still wet. Then they were surprised by Antoine’s return and the girls running towards them, dragging a lot of branches, but they were They scream

Tanya, "Hurry up, Clark. We have to make a big circle of branches around what you built so we can light it."

Alice said in a halting voice, “It's true. We stood inside the traces of his body. Not only that, but skeletons are hanging on the branches of some trees with traces of burning saliva on them.”

Antoine: “I don’t think it is a snake at all. Man, there are traces of the palm of that thing called a lizard, but it is very huge.”

They were talking as they spread the branches in a large circular shape, but the branches were few and only completed half a circle. While they stood to think, the sun began to set and the birds began to fly away from the island in the sky. Clark shouted.

"Damn, why didn't they come back?"

“Twigs are not enough,” Alice said.

Clark said, "Wait here a little while, and if I don't come back, light the wood with this."

Antoine said, “Isn’t that a water pipe?”

"Of course not," Clark said, "she's a planemaker, but I didn't want to embarrass Mary."

Clark moved towards the trees where the other group had gone, and he was dragging behind him a large mattress that he had succeeded in making with some of the leaves of trees near the beach while they were waiting for the two groups to return. When he approached the trees, he began to break the rather weak branches, then placed them on top of the mattress, and then began to penetrate. More as he moved behind the footprints of his friends, and he was very happy that his father had forced him to study the science of tracking traces once, and now he has finally benefited from it.

As Clark advanced into the forest behind the footprints, he was surprised by the disappearance of the footprints next to a river stream. What made him stop in his place for a few minutes, holding his breath, was not the disappearance of the footprints, but rather the color of the bloody red river water and those heads of baby gazelles floating above the water, and from what he noticed of the shape of the head he could catch it, it is removed using four sharp fangs, and no animal has more than two fangs, and if they are true on Anaconda Island, that huge snake, as they say, is supposed to have only two fangs. Any snake, no matter how long it is, only has two fangs to eject the fish from. Through them, but the traces confirm that it was four fangs.

He woke up to sounds coming from near the river, approaching quickly, and it was the voices of his friends. He dropped what he had in his hand and raised his head to look at them until they stopped around him and Mark said while trying to regulate his breathing.

“There is no time to go back and make the fire circle before nightfall.”

Raymond said, "Damn it, why are you collecting wood? Did something happen to Antoine and the girls?"

“What they collected is not enough to make a circuit,” Clark said.

Mary turned around, "Come on, quickly, cut the branches of the nearby trees. There's no time. That thing is starting to fidget, or maybe it's already crawling toward us. No, it's running. It has legs. A snake with legs. Damn it. I haven't studied anything about that in any book."

They all hurriedly broke the branches and threw them on the mattress that Clark was dragging, and they were returning towards the beach, but Antoine stopped, pointing to something between the trees and the stones of the mountain, and said.

“What is this language, what has been engraved, do not say what was in grandfather’s diary.”

Raymond looked and said, "Damn, it's the same words, but what we saw is not a snake. It's some kind of huge fox."

Mary said, “From what was engraved on the cave wall, there are many rare predatory animals, even mentioned only in legends, on the island.”

Raymond said, “But they all leave the island in the evening, and whoever remains can imitate the mountainous nature, stop his breathing, and be like statues.”

Clark: “This is why this creature called the anaconda warns against moving and tells those who arrive on the island to become like the statues scattered on the island.”

Mark said, "This is not what scares me. We saw the statues moving and attacking each other a little while ago. What worries me is who could carve those words on the mountain in this size and in this place that is impossible for a human to reach, unless the anaconda snake can write and write." reading "

They all listened to the sound of strong movements breaking parts of the trees, coming from the same direction they were running away from. Mary did not wait where she was and hurried to run towards the beach, but Mark and Reno grabbed the mattress with the branches on it and began to pull it. Clark quickly broke every branch he could, and when he felt an approaching sound, he grabbed the ends of the bed and then ran while shouting at Mark

“Take Raymond and catch the girl, hurry up.”

In less than ten minutes, they had reached their friends on the beach. The girls, along with Antoine, hurried with the wood geckos to complete the circle. They left the rest of the wood in the middle. The last threads of daylight withdrew, and the place began to become dark. Before the young men set fire to the wood, they saw a group of huge foxes dispersed among the trees and turned into stone. Clark quickly activated the fire cannon that Antoine had been holding as he exited the ship, and set fire to the wood, which quickly burned strangely, and they became surrounded by a circle of high flames.

Everyone sat in the middle inside that wooden tent that Clark had made from the wood of the box. Clark looked at Mary and whispered:

“Do these foxes only have four front fangs on the top?”

Mary shook her head in denial and said, “No, it is like any animal with teeth and fangs, but its body size and predatory power are much larger. However, it can imitate nature and change its appearance.”

Clark: “The head of the deer that I held in my hand was cut off with four tusks from the upper row only. No teeth or anything are indicating the presence of a lower row in the mouth that cut off the head.”

Mark threw the goat's head at Clare and said, "That's the head you mean."

Clark said, "Did you bring it?"

Mark replied, “No, I found it among the woods.”

Mary held his head, looked at him, and said

“From the effects of rot on parts of the head, along with the decomposition of some parts of it, this indicates that it was cut off a long time ago and not today.”

They all looked at each other, then Clark got up, grabbed that head, and threw it through the flames outside the circle, then he sat down and said

“So each of you tells us what he saw so that we can think about what we should do until any ship appears that passes through here.”

Elizabeth looked at them and said, “I will toss that coin. If it is headed, Mark’s team will start talking, and if it is tails, Antoine’s team will start talking.”

Elizabeth tossed the coin up, then let it fall on the sand, and the writing was the first thing that appeared. Antoine looked at them and said:

“Well, when we went around collecting wood and some fruit, nothing happened at first, and there was a lot of fruit, and not just fruit, there were vegetables as well. When Tina was picking some cucumbers after she had collected the tomatoes, she felt movement among the plants, and she backed away a little with concern. I approached her and started trying to look closely, and I saw a beautiful rabbit emerging from the planting. Alice tried to catch him, but he managed to escape, so the three of us tried to run after him, but we could not catch him. While Tina was standing on the edge of a small slope, her foot slipped and she fell into the hole, there were no ropes or sticks nearby so that I could make her hold one end and pull her from the other end, so I climbed a nearby tree to break a branch. When I rose above the first strong branch from which a small branch emerged, I extended my hand to break the small branch but look down where you stand. 'Tina,' I found her standing inside a huge footprint

An animal with four toes. Imagine that it is standing inside a footprint and cannot get out except by pulling it upward with something. I looked a little further and there were traces of a very large reptile body, so I climbed the tree higher so that I could look more closely.

What I saw made my body almost fall in horror. There were five human skeletons covered in some kind of dye, almost. I don't know. I just cut off the arm of one of those skeletons and descended to the ground. Alice was able to get Tina out by tying his clothes together. Then he grabbed her, and I told them what I had seen while pointing with that arm at them, so we quickly gathered the wood we could and returned here.”

Mary said, “Where is that arm?”

Antoine opened his backpack and took out the arm, then pushed it to Marie, who began examining it and then said:

“It is not glue. It is digestive saliva, but it is inactive, so it turns into a gum form. This saliva goes back to one of the types of reptiles that resemble chameleons, but there are also some types of snakes, such as the bluebell, that have saliva close to that.”

Clark said, "So, it is inevitable to admit, we are inside the Hell Island of that snake. At least we have maps of the island and can rely on them to collect wood to protect us at night, but is there anything on it to protect us from those other predators during the day?"

Raymond looked at him and said, “The maps fell from me in the cave while we were trying to escape.”

Clark shouted as he got up to grab Raymond, "What? Why did you take them all with you? Why did you only carry one map?"

Marc Antoine stood in front of Clark while Raymond answered, “I took them with me to explore the path we are taking, and when we arrived at the cave and read what was inside, and when we left, I placed the maps in front of me so that I could search for the next map, because there are eight roads in front of the cave, and we did not remember which way we came.”

Clark sat close to him, placing his palms behind his back, then said

“Anyway, you can take me to that cave tomorrow, right?”

Raymond looked at him in amazement and said, “Of course, if we can escape in the morning from those foxes that have become statues.”

Mark said, “No, I know how we will survive it in the morning. I count them a lot.”

Tanya said, "The situation here is silent. I feel worried. Come on, Mark, tell us what happened to you."

Mark sat up and looked at the fire and said

“After we left Clark and Elizabeth here, we moved according to that map that was in Raymond’s hand. Everything was beautiful and natural. There was nothing. Even when we saw the mountain on which those Arabic phrases were engraved, we were only cer

tain that we were on the island that the grandfather spoke about in His memoirs, and we continued on our way...”
