Children of the Moon
Children of the Moon by Asmaa Nada
Chapter One
The false rumor is that the wolf is a traitor, a deceiver, and a cunning animal who cannot be trusted. This is a blatant lie. There are wonderful facts about who deserves to be the alpha or beta of the wild. The wolf is unique in that it mates for life, and if its partner dies, it often remains alone until its own death. This creature is deeply devoted to its family. The mother cares for her young until they reach adulthood, providing for them rather than abandoning them. In fact, they often stay with the pack until they are grown.
Wolves also care for sick pack members who are unable to hunt. When wolves greet in small groups, if the pack is weak, they do not leave a wounded member behind on the battlefield. They may even show a form of respect for their dead. The strongest leader in the group takes pride in the obedience of all its followers, whether female, old, or young, and no one goes against the will of the alpha pair. Sometimes, the female wolves of highest rank hold more prestige than the alpha male.
In the land of the birds, one can discover legendary creatures of many kinds, each with its own kingdom and a bird king and queen. These creatures strive for security and cooperation. While the land of Asa does not always require a single ruler, after the land of legends was divided into the World of Light and the World of Darkness, the strongest leader had to dominate to ensure peace among the kingdoms.
I don't know why humans deny the existence of the Land of Legends. Despite their assertion of possessing science and technological advancements, they have yet to discover the existence of the World of Legends. Yes, as you may have heard; the world of humans is not the only world in the universe. There are many others, and we live in the Land of Legends, which is separated from the land of humans by an invisible barrier,or one designed to be invisible to many, especially the world of humans. We differ from the land of humans in the speed of time, among other things. My world is more like a mythical world; internally, it is divided into different creatures, each group ruled by a leader called the King or Alpha. Each group also has its own characteristics in terms of strength, speed, and lifespan. However, the most important characteristic of my group is that no matter how much time passes after maturity.
we show no signs of aging or the stage humans call old age. My group is called the Werewolf race. It was named this way because we are considered a hybrid between humans and wolves. We resemble humans, but we possess special powers and wolfish traits. These traits exist within us as a being that shares the human body's thinking. However, we can transform and change our form from human to wolf. Many of our species can communicate and converse with their inner wolves. However, only some are driven by instinct to transform, and in those cases, there is no communication between them and the wolf within.
"Everyone has a wolf inside them that only appears in times of crisis. Be prepared for that wolf to always appear so you can control it."
I'll tell you about the other races within the land of legends, but first, let's get to know my species, the werewolves. We are divided into three classes: the first is the king (the alpha) and his mate, if he has one; the princes; and the commoners, of whom I am a member. Talk of the alpha has spread throughout our kingdom, even though the commoners have only seen him occasionally.
This is due to the alpha's constant preoccupation with uniting and protecting the werewolf packs, ensuring a happy, safe, and just life for them, and also coordinating with the kings of the other creatures of the parallel world.
Rumors say he is strong and athletic, loves hunting, cares about his subjects, quick-witted, and was able to protect the world of light from the kings of the world of darkness and impose laws and treaties on them.
However, those who deal with him believe that he is hard-hearted and does not seem to care about female princesses, perhaps because he has not married yet, as he spread among the common people and princes that he has not found his mate yet. Regarding that, I would like to clarify a point. Every wolf has a mate with whom they are destined to bond. He cannot bond with anyone else, and she is considered his other half.
He will recognize her when he feels a pang in his heart upon meeting her, and she will reciprocate that feeling. Without this connection, bonding is impossible. Within our species, the werewolves, it doesn't matter if your mate is from the same class. It is also possible for a werewolf to find a mate from another race; it is not necessary for them to be another werewolf.
Werewolves are divided into packs, each with a leader who cares for, protects, educates, and trains the pack in combat. This falls under the authority of the alpha of the entire pack. All packs are obligated to obey the alpha. However, there is a pack called the Black Wolves, a pack that operates outside the alpha's control. They attack the poor suburban packs of the kingdom, kidnapping young children to force them to join. Anyone who tries to confront them is killed. All packs hate them, especially me, because of painful past experiences with them.
They broke away from the alpha's rule, possibly due to the support they received. In any case, I am confident that the alpha will one day be able to eliminate them. Oh my god, I forgot to introduce myself. Sorry, my name is "Caroline," and I am fifteen years old. I live in a small cave on the outskirts of the kingdom, and although I am inside a pack of werewolves, I am used to living alone and taking responsibility for myself since I was thirteen years old.
